Acrobat 3D is a marvelous design collaboration tool. It would be rare indeed if all the parties working on a project using the exact same design software on the same platform. Acrobat 3D puts everyone on the same page, it does not matter if they are on the MAC or PC, and using AutoCAD, Microstation, Pro / Engineer Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA, 3ds Max, Rhino, light, design and many other visualization packages.
Can also import 3D Acrobat 3D models saved in common formats such as exchange of 3DS, OBJ, DXF, WRL, IGES, and so on. Would be nice if Adobe added BIM file formats and the earth, SketchUp / Google in particular, but as it is, there is no one form of the joint, which almost certainly will translate your data 3d. In addition, Acrobat 3D allows you to embed 3D models in Word and Excel documents, PowerPoint, and InDesign. This makes it possible for the exchange of 3D models with people who have never used a 3d modeling package.
One needs to Acrobat 3D software to create 3D - enabled PDF, but anyone with Adobe
Reader (if almost everyone in the universe) can not be displayed, and interact, comment and marks the PDF itself. Can be emailed complex 3D models such as PDF files because it can be optimized because they are small file size significantly with a dependent texture maps are included. We will see how it works in this tutorial.
I'll start with the model fully 3D texture-mapped in 3ds max 9 (3.8 MB). By the way, I'm using the form design is a wonderful ready-Michelle Kaufmann. In 3ds max, choose File> Export and select the form of 3DS old. You really have to experiment with a variety of export formats in every 3D package to get the best results imported into Acrobat 3d.
I find that the files work well in 3DS Max is also maintaining the texture maps and not get redirected to the model as it can in other forms. The only downside to the 3DS format is the fact that the maps should be the texture of 8 characters or less in the names of their files (an anachronism from the days of DOS). If you are using another package modeling 3D, you will have to do experiments to find your ideal type of file to transfer your models in 3D Acrobat.
